Welcome to XBRLSITE.COM
This site is all about the practical use of XBRL by semi-technical business users. The site has lots of sample taxonomies and instance documents which can be used to learn about XBRL, for creating demonstrations, and for testing. All samples provided have been tested by a minimum of two XBRL vaidators (i.e. different vendors) to be sure the XBRL is correct. I am trying to use three or four validators most of the time just to be sure. If you notice any errors, please let me know. Other categories or users may find information on this site useful, but it is targeted at the business user who is not afraid of technology. This site is operated by Charlie Hoffman. Please send feedback to CharlesHoffman@olywa.net. Be sure to check out my blog!

World Wide XBRL Projects:
See this page for a listing of XBRL projects around the world. The page points to the data from XBRL International provided in Excel, reformatted in XBRL and made available in a form usable by computer applications: http://www.xbrlsite.com/demos/xbrlprojects/xbrlprojects.htm.
Taxonomies for Learning, Demonstration and Testing:
These contain various sets of instance documents which can be used for testing the ability to do comparisons. This list will continue to add more and more complex comparisons including those with extensions, etc. Take a look at the US SEC RSS feed of XBRL instances and try and do a comparison of that to really understand the issues relating to comparing information within XBRL instance documents.

Mini Repository: (Contains 5 rather small instance documents, all the same except for the entity identifier) |
http://xbrl.squarespace.com/storage/samplerepositorymini/rss-RepositoryMini.xml |
Simple Comparison: (Contains 5 fairly large instances, no extensions, all the data is the same, should be rather easy to compare) |
|
Lots of Instances: (Contains approximately 80 instance documents, all of these are the same except for the entity identifier of the instance contexts; should be easy to do a cross instance comparison) |

SEC RSS Feed: (Link to the US SEC RSS Feed of XBRL Instance documents submitted. Try and do a comparison of these instances, good luck!) |

Simple Web Service Demo: (This is rather old, but shows what it could be like to interact with a web service to grab XBRL information. Try changing the stock ticker symbol on the last two links on this page. This needs updating, which I will do eventually) |
|
Repository Demo: (This is an interface which a user can use to interact with a repository of XBRL information. The repository lets a user add and use information from within a repository information.) |
Coming soon! |
Widget: (This is a simple widget someone created which I hooked to my web page) |
|
XAML: (This is a demo of XAML. This is a work in progress, does not currently show much, but it will. You need Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 and the .Net 3.5 framework to view this demo.) |
